New Balance x Danielle Collins

Professional tennis star Danielle Collins is known for her dynamic personality and fierce talent on the court. Thanks to partnering with New Balance, Matthew Coughlin and team learned she’s also downright fun to have in front of a camera.

The in-studio photo and video shoot took place in Danielle Collins’ hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida to best accommodate a limited window in her professional schedule. With four hours to shoot, the team captured three segments—in-studio action and lifestyle images of Danielle Collins, plus Wimbleton attire flatlays for both NB men’s and women’s tennis. 

Special attention was paid to the shoe Danielle Collins was wearing—the Fresh Foam Lav V2—and its superior performance capabilities.

In addition to the photos, the MCP team captured video throughout the shoot and completed post-production on the final :06 sec and :15 sec video deliverables.

Pushing for greatness, the photo and video team stood behind 1/2-inch plexiglass to capture a head-on tennis ball shot. Lesson learned? Do not underestimate the intensity of Danielle Collins, even at half —err quarter?—speed.

All-in-all, it was a fast, furious and ridiculously fun shoot with a lot of great work and hilarious memories. Thanks, Danielle, for being so rad.
